Bob Ryan, is a partner in Ryan Tax & Consulting Services, Inc., an organization which provides tax and benefit advice for individuals, businesses and estates. He is also a Senior Vice President of TBG Financial, an executive benefit consulting firm responding to client needs in the design, informal funding and administration of deferred compensation plans. Clients gain from his years of experience as a corporate executive and consultant to companies, large and small, in a wide range of industries.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ryan has demonstrated the ability to combine the discipline of actuarial science with creative thinking to invent innovative solutions for an array of complex business problems. He has provided this assistance to companies in a variety of industries including insurance and financial services, banking, oil and gas, retailing, wholesale food distribution, telecommunications, as well as municipalities, universities, and non-profit organizations. Specifically, his clients have included BOK Financial, Devon Energy, Ericsson USA, Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, Fleming Companies, Griffen Television, Halliburton, JCPenney, Kerr-McGee, Oklahoma State University, Phillips Petroleum, University of Oklahoma, and University of Oklahoma Foundation.
Mr. Ryan has been working with sponsors of defined benefit plans for more than thirty years to better manage the liability and investment risks associated with those plans. By focusing on the plan sponsor’s retirement benefit objectives, he searches for alternative strategies in plan design and investments to achieve those objectives.
Prior to his current employment, Mr. Ryan has been associated with and held leadership positions within Watson Wyatt, Towers Perrin and other insurance and financial services organizations.
Mr. Ryan earned a Bachelor of Arts from DePauw University and a Master of Arts in mathematics from the University of Michigan. He has also received advance training at universities and several business organizations. Mr. Ryan is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, serves on the faculty for its Fellowship Admissions Course and the Society’s Futurism Section Council.
